I have always loved pan-fried dumplings or 'Wo tie' (in chinese). Nothing's better than some home-made ones! The 3 ladies of the household, my MIL, SIL and I spent our lazy Sunday afternoon making dumplings. It was good fun, a learning experience for me, and we thought they taste extra fresh and yummy compared to the commercial ones!

took some pictures using my the iphone:

I love it when I have more time to spend in the kitchen... maybe i will bake something next week.. :P

We finally made our way to Chin Mee Chin coffeeshop at Katong AND had our breakfast there this morning, after much talk and a failed attempt to eat there last weekend due to the rain. I love toast, eggs and a nice cuppa kopi-c at the old-style traditional kopitiams. We have heard quite a bit about the place and I have been bugging the hub to try it. When we finally found a parking lot, the place was PACKED! We had to queue up for a seat and that took about 15 mins. Nevertheless, the yummy kaya-butter bun totally made up for it :P Albeit a little warm, I think Chin Mee Chin is worth a trip there. I suggest you go slightly earlier or later (brunch time) to avoid the breakfast crowd :P

*No pictures cause we were really busy eating by the time we settled down!

For once, in days or rather weeks, I have this urge to write something. I have work, planning, marking, all coming through my noses. The weekdays (and weekends) are hardly restful. You cannot imagine how thankful I'm for the long weekends! I'll prolly be working too, but I feel I could take a breather before next week's madness starts again. For the past months, I can truly emphatise when colleagues talk about their experiences of teaching at a boys' school. Boys, they really sap your energy!! Having a class of 10 girls and 22 boys, I have moments when I suddenly feel so overwhelmed with fatigue. I just pause and have a sudden urge to just STOP talking. They are just so energetic! They are like busy bees buzzing around you 24 hours a day :P On the brighter side, I have really good kiddos these year and they never fail to amuse me.. (with exceptions of a few pain-in-the-asses). Nevertheless, I just look forward to the end of the semester, which doesn't come before another mad 2 weeks of results processing and admin work.

We have not much plans for these weekend yet. We are hooked on Heroes season 3 and I guess I'll be contented with a weekend of just doing nothing much and lots of rest. Definitely a mother's day lunch or dinner with the family too :) Till then!
